Curative Education
All over the country today, we are receiving into our homes, programs, and classrooms a constant stream of children at younger and younger ages who are needing more than what many current models of care and education offer. They are coming with obstacles and challenges to their incarnation and growth that require a more specialized lens for seeing them and how to guide them in. Rudolf Steiner’s curative education lectures hold for us a beacon of light in our search for how to meet them.
Join us for a workshop with Robyn Brown to explore what it truly means to observe and why those observations are useful. We will work into how the pictures of the Curative Polarities Steiner gives in Curative Education can be understood and how the conditions of the polarities affect the child and their relationship to the twelve senses. And finally, we will talk about what we can do to support the child to overcome their difficulties, both at home and in the classroom.
Program Details:
This workshop will take place through Zoom, each day meeting for two 1 ½ hour sessions with a 30 minute break in-between.
Come dressed to move, including shoes you can walk and run in. We will begin each day with morning movement, as we would do with the children and intersperse more movement into the day to keep things lively. There is nothing else to prepare beforehand.
In order to create a lively “in-person” feel and to preserve the integrity of what is shared, this course will not be recorded for distribution.
Participants can earn 9 Continuing Education hours with full participation in all three live sessions. Contact our administrator, Julie Voss, prior to the course if you are interested. A very brief follow-up survey is required.
