Convenient three-week online format includes inspiring written material, lively videos, links to further reading and resources, and a rich discussion forum with Rahima and participants from all over the world -- plus a live video conference call near the end. Each Wednesday, a new lesson on child development from birth to three will open with a variety of learning activities.
Rahima draws from her life-long work as a midwife, Waldorf early childhood teacher, LifeWays childcare provider and parenting educator to share a new lesson with you each week:

Week 1: Birth and the Process of Coming into the Body
Includes vertical and horizontal streams of development, the baby’s experience of birth, postpartum resources for mothers, and much more

Week 2: Infants—From Horizontal to Vertical in the First Year
Developing and protecting the senses, freedom of movement, being with an infant, infants in childcare settings, working toward rhythm, and more

Week 3: Toddlers—Talking, Playing, Saying “I” and Becoming Social
Learning through imitation, the development of language and thinking, stages of play, creating an enriched environment, providing social guidance, and more
Learn on your own time and at your own pace because lessons will always be accessible for ongoing reference. If you can’t attend the Zoom Q&A Session on Saturday, March 21 (11 am CST), you can listen to the recording, which will be available for 30 days.

About the Instructor:
Rahima Baldwin Dancy is internationally known as the author of You Are Your Child’s First Teacher on Steiner’s indications from birth through age six, which has been translated into ten languages. She worked for many years as a midwife and childbirth activist before becoming a Waldorf early childhood teacher and parenting educator. She also was co-director of Rainbow Bridge LifeWays program for children ages one to five years and was a founding board member of LifeWays North America.
