CIRCLE OF HANDS
With Mindy Upton of Blue Sky Craft Studio
Sundays 12- 2pm Central, September 2025 through
May 2026
Bring together the skills of sewing and felting, music and story in this very special handwork circle! This class is designed for teachers, caregivers, and grandparents who enjoy the magic of creating beauty with handwork and natural fiber materials.
It is inspired by Mindy’s many years in the kindergarten and the heartfelt moments spent observing the children playing with the sweet felted mousy, bunnies and dollies lovingly made for them.
Each month in the Circle, participants will explore handmade playthings along with a seasonal song or story. We will also create characters or animals that will enhance your program’s Nature Garden.
Participants of the workshop need to have basic handwork skills in sewing and wool felting.

The Pedagogical Law:
How Our Inner Life Shapes Our Children
w. Jerilyn Burke
Saturday, Feb. 21 11 am CT
Rudolf Steiner’s Pedagogical Law reminds us that our children’s healthy development is deeply connected to our own inner growth and self-care. In this talk, we will explore this idea in clear, practical ways and look at how our moods, daily habits, and presence shape our children’s well-being and resilience. Together we will discover simple ways to live this truth through warmth, awareness, and the courage to begin again, moment by moment, remembering that it is not perfection that matters, but our striving.
Practicing Self-Awareness in a Life with Children
w. Acacia Moore
Wednesday, Mar 11 6:30 pm CT
As we aspire to be strong models for our children, it’s essential to integrate practices of self-awareness into our daily lives. In this webinar, we will talk about how we can view and use the life we already lead with children to strengthen this practice. We will talk about how to reflect on acute situations in a meaningful way, as well as what practices we can implement to develop mindfulness.
Being the Leader Your Child Needs
w. Bente Goldstein
Wednesday, April 22 6:30 pm CT
The three 7-year phases of childhood demand different things from us adults. What are those different unarticulated demands? Join us to learn about how the role you play as parent or teacher plays as children move into grade school.
We will talk about what is an Adult versus a Child– What is your adult role as a captain of your ship? This will lead to an understanding of what it means to come into the body as a child and how we can aid that incarnation process. Steiner says that the goal of education is to be able to “put purpose and direction from inside ourselves” towards our activities as an adult. A real adult is a leader of themselves. We will discuss how we prepare children best for that to happen down the lane.
