LifeWays North America is grounded in the spiritual indications of Rudolf Steiner and acknowledges the numerous ideals and practices he ushered into the world that support the upliftment of humanity. As an organization, LifeWays aligns with Steiner’s conception of all individuals, regardless of race or creed, being on kindred paths toward self-realization. We do not condone or endorse any ideology that purports specific types of people to be more or less capable or evolved.
We are aware of statements and writings by Rudolf Steiner that are difficult to interpret as anything besides degrading toward people of color. Such unfortunate statements are a painful reminder of the times during which he lived and of the work still to do to honor all peoples. It is our understanding that these comments do not diminish the healing impulse and insights to be gained by the study of Anthroposophy and the many writings/impulses Steiner contributed to the understanding of education and the development of the human being.
